In native american cultures, a dream catcher is a handmade object based on a hoop carved from a willow tree, on which is woven a loose net or web. It is then decorated with sacred objects such as feathers or beads. It's shape represents a circle because of how the sun and moon travel across the sky each day. Legend says that the dream catcher originated from a mysterious woman named the 'spider Woman' who took care of the children and people on the land. As the population grew it became hard for her to look after all the children, so mothers and grandmothers would weave magical webs to channel the power of the Spider Woman. It would filter all nightmares and only allow good thoughts into the mind! This is a large sized pink dream catcher approx 16cm in height. Rec. Age 3+ Years
